Vocabulary
The sum of words used and understood by, or at the command of, a particular person or group. Vocabulary is knowledge of words, in both oral and print form, and word meanings, which are both receptive knowledge – those we recognize when we hear or see them – and productive knowledge – those we actively use when we speak or write. A broad vocabulary supports success in nearly any activity or industry.
